General Liability/Civil Litigation Attorney

Saint Louis office of a BCG Attorney Search Top Ranked Law Firm seeks a general liability/civil litigation attorney with 3+ years of experience defending general liability and civil claims defense in Missouri and Illinois. The candidate will gather and analyze medical evidence and medical records. Depose plaintiffs, physicians, experts, and other parties/witnesses. Conduct discovery and perform legal research. Remain current with developments in the law. Draft pleadings, findings of fact, motions, briefs, opinions, and other legal documents. Represent the interests of clients or insurers at hearings, trials, depositions, oral arguments, mediations, and other proceedings. Communicate with claims representatives. Assist with the investigation and analysis of accidents and potential claims. Manage costs to reduce liability. Compile and submit reports required by company management. Coordinate and attend claims reviews. Negotiate settlements on behalf of clients and insurance carriers. Must have admission to the Missouri and Illinois Bars. A portable business is a plus.

The candidate must have a J.D. degree. Working knowledge of legal principles and practices is required. In-depth knowledge of local, state, and federal laws and regulations is needed. Thorough knowledge of legal research techniques and legal terminology is essential. Microsoft Word experience is required. Time Matters legal software experience is preferred. Should have excellent telephone and writing skills.
