Job Overview:
A law firm is seeking a mid-level Business Transactions Associate to join its practice group. The ideal candidate will have experience in complex business transactions, particularly mergers and acquisitions. Exposure to securities offerings, corporate finance transactions, and joint ventures will be considered a plus. A background in accounting or tax, or an LL.M. in Taxation, is strongly preferred. Candidates must demonstrate excellent academic credentials, superior writing skills, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Location:

  • HArtford, CT

Duties:

  • Manage and support complex business transactions, including mergers and acquisitions
  • Assist with securities offerings, corporate finance transactions, and joint ventures
  • Draft, review, and negotiate business transaction agreements
  • Provide legal counsel and strategic advice to clients
  • Develop and maintain client relationships
  • Work independently on client matters and collaborate with team members
  • Ensure high-quality client service in a fast-paced, results-driven environment

Requirements:

  • 3-5 years of experience in business transactions, particularly mergers and acquisitions
  • Exposure to securities offerings, corporate finance transactions, and joint ventures is a plus
  • Accounting or tax experience, or an LL.M. in Taxation, strongly preferred
  • Excellent academic credentials
  • Demonstrated strong writing and analytical skills
  • Strong interpersonal and communication abilities
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • High attention to detail and a client-service-oriented mindset

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • LL.M. in Taxation (preferred but not required)

Skills:

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize effectively
