Kansas City office of our client seeks an associate attorney with relevant legal experience. The candidate will prepare clients for administrative hearings; advocate for clients at administrative hearings, and write administrative appeals to the Appeals Council. Screen potential clients to determine eligibility and whether to engage in representation. Write multiple appellate briefs every month to federal court judges and occasionally participate in oral arguments. An active attorney license in Missouri or Kansas or a willingness to acquire one within a month of employment is required.
The candidate must preferably have a background in Social Security Disability law or appellate work. Recent law school graduates with a strong interest in appellate work and a history of solid writing skills are encouraged to apply as are those with experience. Strong organizational skills, communication skills, and legal analysis are required. Must have excellent writing and oral advocacy skills.
