San Jose office of an AmLaw firm seeks knowledge management government relations attorney with 5-8 years of experience practicing law in California. The candidate will support the needs of all of the practice groups in California by providing highest quality legal content for practitioners. Will determine the California offices, attorneys, and Advice and Counsel Resource Groups end goals related to KM, and establish and implement a plan to meet those objectives and to review and assess periodically through feedback mechanisms. Monitor current developments in case law, legislation, regulations and trends, communicating to PG through consistent established formats, including analysis as needed. Write articles and blog posts for the public website and other media; assist leaders and other attorneys in regular writing and publishing. Maintain content of California offices, attorneys, and Advice and Counsel Resource Groups intranet pages, ensuring that it is readily accessible, current and accurate. Expand the use of the Firms KM systems pertaining to data related to the California offices, attorneys, and Advice and Counsel Resource Group; utilize Engagement data for statistical analysis and post-case assessment of lessons learned with particular emphasis on KM service offerings. Review content available through subscription resources; work with KM staff to direct users to cost-effective quality resources, made readily accessible. Establish model documents, forms, precedents, and practice checklists, updating as required by changes in law; work with appropriate teams to develop efficient means for replicating documents through available technology, such as document assembly. Develop appropriate internal training materials for attorneys and for paralegals, coordinate with CLE Specialist, KM/Info trainer and Professional Development staff. Work directly with pitch teams to convey an understanding of value of firms KM program to client or potential client, coordinating with groups Business Development Manager and the proposal team. Assist in identifying possible tools for internal and external use based on Practice Groups focus. Must have particular experience in Advice and Counsel work.

The candidate should have excellent writing and communication skills. Must have passion for knowledge-sharing, efficiency, and excellence in legal work.
