Mid-level Private Client Associate Attorney

Los Angeles office of a BCG Attorney Search Top Ranked Law Firm seeks mid-level private client associate attorney with 5+ years of experience practicing in a law firm's trusts and estates / private client group. The candidate will work directly with and advise high net worth individuals and family businesses on tax, trust and estate and business succession matters. Must have experience drafting complex wills and trusts. Experience drafting, explaining, recommending, and finalizing sophisticated wealth planning strategies and documents including family limited partnerships, grantor retained annuity trusts, dynasty trusts, insurance trusts, annual exclusion trusts, directed trusts, sales to defective grantor trusts, buy-sell agreements, decanting and private trust companies in providing clients with long term wealth planning strategies is required. Knowledge of and ability to research and apply rules governing estate, gift, GST, and income taxation of trusts and estates, gift and estate tax return reporting and preparation is needed. International experience is a plus. California Bar membership is preferred. An LL.M. degree is a plus.

The candidate must have strong academic credentials. J.D. degree is required. Ability to work directly with clients to establish, develop and maintain long-term relationships is required. Strong project management skills with ability to balance a large number of competing priorities are essential. Must have attention to detail and be a team player. Strong drafting, writing, research and communication skills are needed.
