Delaware office of our client seeks a general practice associate attorney with 3-5 years of experience in the areas of real property, life planning, business organization, and business advising. The candidate will provide all legal services to the assigned region. Will research cases and legal issues to support client cases and prepare the appropriate documentation according to established procedure. Conduct legal research by preparing legal memoranda and necessary pleadings required in all aspects of both state and federal litigation matters as needed. Draft pleadings and current correspondence, analyze, and review legal documents as needed. Provide counsel and legal services to new and existing clients by evaluating their needs, providing education through the layman's language, preparing proposals for the client through written communication, and representing clients in a professional and expedient manner. Apply knowledge of legal procedures and previous cases to effectively counsel clients. Develop new clients and interfaces with existing clients on a continuous basis. Contact customers, prospect base, and major accounts via telephone or by traveling in their own vehicle on a continuous basis. Communicate with opposing attorneys through personal contact, telephone, and facsimile to expedite cases to a close. Occasionally appear at hearings and trials. Comply with all court, State Bar, and interoffice rules, regulations, and procedures on a daily basis. Comply with all continuing legal education requirements. Delegate tasks as appropriate to support staff. Responsible for meeting requirements for billing as assigned by the partners or the designates. Ensure all client information and documents are uploaded to Box, Clio, and Clio Grow correctly. Ensure the filing of documents with appropriate courts and public and private offices. Connect with local businesses, Bar Association(s), and community groups. Attend meetings with partners and staff as required. Perform client intakes for all practice areas, identify issues relevant to each client intake, communicate the issues to the case manager or attorney in charge of relevant issues, and communicate with clients for the primary attorney when necessary. Develop and manage client base through prospecting, setting appointments, and servicing clients via telephone and personal contact. Perform other related duties assigned. Should feel comfortable in appearing in court if any of the litigation teams need assistance. Must have experience leading a team and a track record of network building. A transferable active book of business is a plus. Must be a member of the Ohio State Bar and be a Notary. Title License would be a plus.

The candidate should have a J.D. degree. Should have knowledge of MS Word, MS Excel, Apple Safari, Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Clio, Clio Grow, LexisNexis, Zoom, and Box. Should be self-motivated, organized, detail-oriented, work well with people, able to manage high stress, and is comfortable with computers. Should also be comfortable working with a remote team, able to actively organize their legal practice to deliver excellent quality in an efficient manner, and have excellent communication skills. Must be able to network and be known in the Delaware communities and will be encouraged to participate in community clubs, boards, and networking groups.
