Fairfax office of our client, a Chambers ranked law firm, is actively seeking associates to join our Labor and Employment Litigation Group. The candidate will handle defense of agency charges of discrimination, defense of lawsuits involving a broad range of employment-related claims and advice and counseling involving similar issues. Will represent employers in court, before administrative agencies, at mediations, and in arbitration in a broad range of employment matters. Advise and train employers on a wide range of employment laws and regulations. Effectively and persuasively write briefs and motions for the benefit of the clients. Cultivate productive and effective relationships with clients. Should have 3-4 years of litigation experience. Should have a thorough understanding of civil litigation procedures and experience managing cases through the full life cycle of litigation. Employer-side, labor and employment litigation experience is strongly preferred. An interest in labor and employment law will be considered. Must be an active member in good standing of the Virginia Bar. Experience with complex discovery, complex motions, and taking and defending depositions is essential.
The candidate should exhibit strong organizational, time management, and project management skills and be able to communicate and interact well with clients and opposing counsel. Strong academic credentials are required. Must hold a JD degree from an ABA-approved law school. Business development skills alongside a demonstrated history of maintaining positive relationships with clients is essential.
