Seattle office of a BCG Attorney Search Top Ranked Law Firm seeks a chemistry patent scientist preferably with 2+ years of patent prosecution experience. The candidate will assist with the procurement of patent protection for innovative technologies, evaluate the designs of new products, and assist with the evaluation of competitor products. Will learn about a variety of new technologies, learn to identify inventive features, learn to describe the inventions, and learn to work with the Patent Office to obtain allowance of a patent for the technology. Review new client technologies to determine potentially patentable features. Create chemical structures and drawings that describe the invention. Write patent applications with clarity and technical accuracy. Prepare responses to the Patent Office distinguishing prior publications. Review issued patents. Should eventually participate in a patent law course and become registered with the USPTO. A graduate degree in organic or medicinal chemistry is required and a Ph.D. degree is preferred.

The candidate must be a strong communicator, both written and oral. Strong academic credentials are required. Must have strong technical writing skills.
