Matrimonial/Family Law Associate Attorney

Albany office of a BCG Attorney Search Top Ranked Law Firm seeks matrimonial/family law associate attorney with 2-5 years of experience in civil litigation. The candidate will zealously represent the clients. Will assist in navigating and representing individuals as they go through a difficult time. Should have experience with a range of sensitive legal issues such as child abuse, child custody, and domestic violence, and be able to maintain composure, negotiate, and argue effectively even in emotional and high-stress situations. Manage personal caseload without explicit direction or guidance from management. Regular and timely communication with clients. Draft pleadings and various other legal documents in a timely manner. Attend court appearances and conferences. Provide clear and direct legal advice and strategy decisions to clients in order to effectuate their goals. Achieve the billable hour requirement expected by the firm. Work with the billing department for accurate and appropriate billing of clients. Should have civil litigation experience (matrimonial and family law, preferred), including court appearances, document drafting, and negotiations. Admission to the New York State Bar is required.

The candidate should have excellent communication skills, especially interacting with clients. Must have excellent legal research and writing skills. Should have strong professional judgment, problem-solving and decision-making skills. Must have ability to analyze and summarize legal documents and synthesize legal issues for litigation. Should be extremely detail oriented, have strong interpersonal skills, and manage priorities in a sensitive area of law. Willingness to work in a team and contribute to the overall goals of a growing law firm needed.
