Sioux Falls office of a BCG Attorney Search Top Ranked Law Firm seeks a banking and financial services attorney with 2-5 years of relevant in-house and/or law firm experience and a strong interest in banking and finance law. The candidate will represent financial institutions, commercial lenders, creditors, borrowers, and other interested parties in consumer and commercial finance transactions and litigation. Consistently provide excellent advice and guidance to clients on a variety of banking, finance, and regulatory legal matters. Advise financial institutions and commercial lenders in the increasingly complex environment in which they operate. Assist and manage a multitude of financial lending transactions, such as commercial and consumer financing, bank loans, and asset-based transactions. Structure transactions to help protect the client's commercial interest. Negotiate and document contractual relationships between lenders and borrowers. Represent clients in complex corporate and consumer bankruptcy cases, debt restructurings, and related litigation matters. Handle and manage commercial and consumer financial services litigation defense. Handle and manage complex litigation and regulatory enforcement matters. Handle and manage debt collections on behalf of financial institutions, commercial lenders, and businesses. Counsel financial institutions to ensure compliance and act within state and federal regulations. Draft and review pleadings, motions, and court documents. Research Caselaw and state and federal statutes that correlate with ongoing litigation matters. Be active in business development, including professional organization involvement and writing. Supervise paralegals, staff, and team members as the role progresses. Should preferably have 5-7 years of specific subject matter experience with drafting and client advising. First chair trial experience is required. Complex litigation experience is essential. Should preferably have in-depth experience handling complex litigation matters and providing solid trial advocacy. Must be licensed with at least one State Bar and in good standing. Should be eligible to become licensed to practice law in Iowa, Nebraska, or South Dakota.

The candidate must have a Juris Doctor from an accredited law school. Excellent academic and professional credentials are desired. Excellent critical thinking, analytical reasoning, debate, persuasion techniques, and negotiation skills are required. Should be able to examine and analyze cases and documents for inherent legal risks. Excellent interpersonal and client service skills are essential. Must have good leadership skills and an action-oriented interest in taking on increased levels of responsibility. Proficiency with MS Office Suite is required. The firm offers an annual CLE budget, Bar dues and professional memberships, cell phone reimbursement, 401(k) after 90 days, 3% Safe Harbor contribution to the 401 (k) after 1 year, health, dental, and vision insurance, group life and long-term disability insurance, and medical and dependent care.
