Duties:

  • Handle litigation and regulatory investigations involving privacy and data security matters
  • Defend clients in privacy and data breach class action lawsuits, including claims under statutes like the Stored Communications Act and wiretapping laws
  • Manage investigations and enforcement actions from regulatory bodies, including State AG offices and the FTC
  • Engage directly with clients, leading significant projects and providing strategic legal advice
  • Draft and review legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and briefs
  • Stay updated on evolving privacy regulations and consumer protection laws to offer informed legal counsel

Requirements:

  • 4-6 years of experience in litigation or regulatory investigations related to data privacy and security
  • Experience in defending consumer protection claims, including those involving unfair and deceptive trade practices and data breaches
  • High academic achievement from a nationally recognized law school
  • Strong writing, analytical, and communication skills
  • Ability to manage client relationships and lead complex legal matters
  • Tech fluency with an understanding of privacy laws and digital regulations

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Active bar membership in one of the firm’s office locations (NY, SF, Chicago, DC)

Skills:

  • Proficient in managing litigation and regulatory compliance matters
  • Strong legal research and analytical skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively with clients and team members
