General Liability Associate Attorney

A law firm in Los Angeles, CA, seeks a General Liability Associate Attorney to independently manage litigation cases, handle diverse accounts across California, and provide trial preparation and support.

Job Duties:

• Handle a variety of local and national accounts throughout California, specializing in general liability matters.
• Independently manage a caseload of litigation matters, including case strategy, pleadings, discovery, and trial preparation.
• Conduct depositions of clients, witnesses, and experts.
• Prepare witnesses for deposition and trial testimony.
• Review, analyze, and respond to discovery requests and pleadings.
• Prepare court filings and ensure timely service to opposing counsel, utilizing e-filing systems.
• Assist with trial preparation and provide support during trials as required.
• Maintain accurate and detailed time records for billing purposes.

Requirements:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
• Admission to practice law in the state of California.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in product liability, transportation, aviation, or premises liability.
• Proficiency in motion practice and conducting depositions.
• Demonstrated ability to lead plaintiff and expert depositions.
• Strong research and writing skills, with the ability to draft clear and persuasive legal documents.

Education and Certifications:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
• Active membership and good standing with the State Bar of California.
