Nashville office of a BCG Attorney Search Top Ranked Law Firm seeks a senior immigration staff attorney with 5 years of trial experience in Immigration law. The candidate will manage a team and a caseload of removal defense cases in Immigration Courts, in addition to managing a caseload before USCIS and the Department of State. Will provide initial consults to prospective clients. Prepare and litigate applications, petitions, and motions for relief from the bond to appeals, including but not limited to cancellation of removal, adjustment of status, asylum, withholding of removal, Convention Against Torture (CAT), and other waivers. In addition to requests, applications, petitions, and motions related to immigration cases with diverse agencies. Challenge allegations of removability through motions to terminate and motions to suppress. Conduct investigations and discovery to effectively support clients claims with persuasive evidence. Identifying legal or factual issues and developing new approaches to resolve complex issues. Work closely with the team, clients, and their families to prepare the cases. Effectively communicate with other attorneys and experts in the field-locally and nationally-to leverage as much knowledge and advice as possible for the benefit of our clients. Legal research and writing specifically, drafting and filing motions and briefs before the immigration courts, Board of Immigration Appeals (BIA). Considered a plus if you can handle these tasks but not required: Analyze the immigration consequences of criminal convictions by providing Padilla consults to criminal defense attorneys. Litigate petitions for writ of habeas corpus and applications for preliminary injunctive relief in the U.S. District Court. Appeals in U.S. District Court. Must proficiently Speak, Read, and Write Spanish. Should have Active Bar membership and be licensed to practice law by the highest court of any State. Basic knowledge of MS 365, pdf, and excel, and proficient typing is required. Strong Spanish, speaking, writing, and reading abilities is required.

The candidate should have strong written and oral advocacy and excellent writing and legal research skills. Must have a commitment to excellent customer service and quality legal products. The ability to establish rapport with judges, opposing counsel, ICE, and USCIS is required. Should have a Juris Doctor from an accredited law school. Must have an excellent work ethic, work well with a team and work independently. Excellent management of deadlines ahead of time uses a calendar, planner, and daily tasks needed. Must be able to work with assistants and delegate effectively.
