Senior Bankruptcy Attorney

Akron office of our client seeks senior bankruptcy attorney with 5-10 years of experience in bankruptcy in general, with 1-2 years of experience preparing and filing Chapter 13 petitions without immediate supervision. The candidate will perform at least 8 hours of work per weekday. Will counsel clients on their financial problems and potential resolutions. Maintain familiarity with non-bankruptcy methods to resolve financial problems (foreclosure defense, loan workouts). Evaluate whether a Chapter 13 or Chapter 7 bankruptcy petition is appropriate if any for a particular client. Meet with clients to prepare bankruptcy cases for filing and prepare the clients for examination by bankruptcy trustees. Prepare and file bankruptcy petitions, including Chapter 13 petitions and plans. Successfully obtain order of confirmation on Chapter 13 plans. Appear at meetings or hearing mandated by the Court and Bankruptcy trustees. File post-petition court filings and respond to motions. Manage and evaluate the work of junior attorneys. Manage and evaluate the work of paralegals and support staff. Build and maintain relationships with bankruptcy trustees and their staff. Should have an active law license and admission to at least one bankruptcy court.
