Melville office of a BCG Attorney Search Top Ranked Law Firm seeks an elder law associate attorney with 2+ years of experience in elder law, estate planning, and estate administration. The candidate will advise clients on all aspects of Elder Law/Medicaid planning. Prepare and advise clients on Elder Law/Estate Planning documents such as advance directives, Wills, Revocable and Irrevocable Trusts. Prepare and file Medicaid home care and nursing home care applications. Handle all aspects of Estate and Trust administration including the filing of probate proceedings in the Surrogate's court. Provide sophisticated legal analysis and arrive at practical solutions for clients. Contribute to the growth of the firm. Maintain high levels of professional conduct and ethics. Meet regularly and communicate effectively with clients. Conduct effective legal research. Work effectively with people, including colleagues, support staff, and others. Must be a member of New York Bar.

The candidate should have a passion for Elder Law, enjoy helping clients in challenging life situations, and have the integrity, skills, and work ethic. Strong knowledge of laws, court procedures, case law research, precedents, and government regulations related to Elder Law, Medicaid, Trust & Estates, Estate Planning, Estate and Trust Administration, Estate Litigation, and tax planning are required. Excellent interpersonal skills and empathy to clients with the ability to assess client needs and help people solve challenging life problems are needed. A strong work ethic with high personal standards for both quality and quantity of work is essential. Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills; excellent written and verbal communication skills are critical. Must possess a collaborative attitude with the ability to work well with others. Must be self-motivated and proactive in organizing work with the ability to anticipate issues. Proficiency in using Microsoft Office programs, Hot Docs, and internet-based legal databases is required.
