Family Law Attorney

Job Overview: A leading law firm in Wilmington, North Carolina, is seeking a highly skilled Family Law Attorney to join its legal team. The ideal candidate will have significant experience representing clients in sensitive family law matters, including divorce, child custody, alimony, and domestic violence. This role requires a professional who can navigate complex family law issues with empathy, composure, and a strategic mindset. The attorney will manage client cases, attend court hearings, and collaborate with senior attorneys and paralegals to ensure the best outcomes for clients.

Location:

• Wilmington, North Carolina

Duties:

• Handle the division of marital assets, including real estate, during divorce proceedings
• Communicate with senior partners and paralegals to ensure smooth progress in civil litigation cases
• Analyze client needs, strategize legal solutions, and determine appropriate courses of action
• Represent clients in court proceedings for family law matters such as divorce, alimony, and child custody
• Maintain organized and up-to-date client files

Requirements:

• 5-10 years of experience in family law is preferred
• Prior experience or studies in criminal justice are a plus
• Bachelor’s degree and a Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school
• At least 1-2 years of experience working on family law issues within a law firm, including real estate and marital property determinations
• Member in good standing with the American Bar Association (ABA)
• Strong knowledge of representing both plaintiffs and defendants in family law cases

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school

Certifications:

• Licensed to practice law in North Carolina
• Active membership in the American Bar Association (ABA)
