Personal Injury Attorney

A law firm seeks an experienced and motivated Personal Injury Attorney to join its growing team. Duties:

• Manage all aspects of personal injury cases, including sign-ups, pleadings, depositions, discovery, and trial preparation.
• Conduct depositions and defend depositions.
• Handle discovery demands and responses.
• Prepare cases for trial, including expert witness disclosure, mediations, and arbitrations.
• Work closely with a paralegal assigned to your caseload for case support.
• Collaborate with other team members, including calendar clerks who assist with booking depositions, mediations, and court appearances.
• Participate in firm-sponsored networking events, bar associations, and CLE programs, with reimbursement for all related costs.
• Contribute to the firm’s referral program by bringing in new clients and cases.

Requirements:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
• Admitted to practice law in New York.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work effectively within a team.
• Motivated to represent injured clients with compassion and determination.
• Must be comfortable handling a full caseload, from pre-litigation to trial.
• Prior experience in personal injury law is preferred, but candidates with strong litigation skills in other areas of law may also be considered.
• Ability to handle depositions, mediations, and other trial-related activities.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Must be licensed and admitted to practice law in New York.

Skills:

• Strong legal research and writing abilities.
• Ability to manage a high volume of cases effectively and efficiently.
• Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
• Proficient in using legal software tools such as Westlaw or equivalent.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
• Strong attention to detail and case management skills.
