Senior Health Care Attorney

Boston office of a BCG Attorney Search Top Ranked Law Firm seeks a senior healthcare attorney with 6+ years of experience working on complex healthcare regulatory and/or transactional matters in a robust healthcare practice group of a law firm or with relevant in-house experience. The candidate will take a lead role in certain healthcare matters. Will provide thorough factual and legal research and analysis. Review regulatory analyses by junior attorneys. Manage matters from commencement to final resolution. Competently and professionally communicate with clients, and complete tasks efficiently. Should have experience in federal and state fraud and abuse laws (e.g., AKA, Stark, and False Claims Act), state corporate practice of medicine guidelines and federal and state licensure, conditions of participation and accreditation requirements; Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement and compliance issues; or managed care and health insurance regulatory matters. Contract drafting and negotiation would be a plus. Must have an understanding of health care industry participants, who is comfortable with direct client contact approaches client work with a collaborative mindset, and who treat both clients and colleagues with respect. Must be and remain licensed to practice law and in good standing.

The candidate should have Juris Doctor. Should have the ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing. Must have the ability to work effectively under pressure and to meet deadlines. Strong organization and matter management skills. Ability to work professionally and effectively with Clients, Partners, Associates, and Support Staff. Ability to work effectively with others as part of a team; and clear and effective drafting skills.

This large downtown firm wants to be the premier full-service firm for the technology sector. And, for the most part, they are doing a fairly good job of competing for those clients, concentrating on attracting industries in certain areas, such as publishing. The work here is among the best for associates, who get paid a below-market base salary, but have substantial opportunity for billable hour-related rewards.
