Job Overview:
A respected law firm located in Atlanta, GA, is seeking an experienced Insurance Defense Associate Attorney to join their dynamic team. This role offers a unique opportunity to work on a wide range of litigation matters, with a focus on defending insured and self-insured businesses in premises liability and tort cases. The attorney will be involved in all stages of litigation, from case inception to trial, working with Fortune 500 clients and gaining valuable hands-on experience.

Duties:

  • Manage insurance defense and premises liability cases, handling all aspects of litigation from start to finish in both state and federal courts.
  • Draft pleadings, motions, and briefs, and prepare for hearings, depositions, trials, and post-trial motions.
  • Participate in mediation and other settlement negotiations.
  • Maintain regular client communication and provide case updates.
  • Conduct legal research and assist with discovery.
  • Prepare for and represent clients during trials.

Requirements:

  • Admission to the Georgia State Bar.
  • At least 1 year of post-graduate legal experience, particularly in insurance defense, premises liability, civil litigation, or trial practice.
  • Demonstrated passion and enthusiasm for trial practice.
  • Strong research, writing, and oral advocacy skills.
  • Ability to effectively manage and organize case details.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Valid Georgia State Bar license.

Skills:

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in legal research and drafting legal documents.
  • Experience with depositions and trial preparation.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
