Washington, D.C. office of our client seeks municipal telecommunication associate attorney with 3-5 years of experience. The candidate will be representing local governments, other public agencies and non-profits. Will be representing public agencies in their roles as regulators, infrastructure owners and market participants. Working closely with clients to: negotiate and draft a variety of transactional agreements including: macro cell site leases, street light and utility pole attachment agreements, right of way use agreements, fiber facilities agreements, and cable franchises; draft ordinances governing use of public rights of way and zoning/land use by communications providers, including wireless companies; advise on processing permits and appeals in compliance with state and federal law; prepare filings in proceedings at the Federal Communications Commission and the California Public Utilities Commission and litigation; provide advice on emerging issues in telecommunications such as 5G and smart cities and on proposed legislation; and prepare client alerts, conference presentations and policy papers on communications law issues affecting local governments.
