Litigation Attorney

Job Overview

A dynamic law firm is seeking a Litigation Attorney licensed in California to join its general liability and commercial litigation team. This opportunity is ideal for a motivated attorney with at least two years of litigation experience who can manage complex cases from inception through trial. The position offers flexible hybrid work arrangements for candidates located in Southern California.

Duties

• Handle general liability and commercial litigation matters from inception to trial

• Draft and argue motions, pleadings, and legal briefs

• Conduct legal research, analysis, and prepare written reports and strategies

• Manage written discovery, depositions, and e-discovery platforms

• Analyze issues related to professional liability coverage

• Represent clients in both state and federal court proceedings

• Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and internal legal teams

• Support strategic litigation planning and resolution efforts

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of litigation experience (general liability and/or commercial litigation)

• Ability to independently manage all phases of litigation

• Familiarity with court procedures in both state and federal courts

• Proficiency in managing complex case documents and deadlines

• Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment

• Strong time management and case organization skills

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited U.S. law school with strong academic credentials

Certifications

• Active member of the California State Bar in good standing (required)

Skills

• Excellent legal writing, research, and oral advocacy skills

• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and legal tech tools, including e-discovery platforms

• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities

• Negotiation and case evaluation experience

• Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple litigation matters concurrently

• Collaborative, with strong interpersonal communication
