Labor and Employment Associate Attorney

Job Overview: A leading law firm is seeking a Labor and Employment Associate with a minimum of five years of law firm experience to join its labor and employment team in Los Angeles. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing cases independently, conducting depositions, negotiating with opposing counsel, and arguing motions in court. This position offers the opportunity for partnership-track advancement and requires strong analytical, research, and writing skills. Experience in trial and employment litigation, especially class actions, is strongly preferred.

Duties:

• Manage labor and employment cases independently
• Conduct depositions and communicate effectively with opposing counsel
• Argue motions in court and represent clients in employment litigation
• Negotiate and draft settlements or agreements with opposing parties
• Conduct legal research and provide thorough legal analysis
• Collaborate with the labor and employment team on complex litigation matters
• Handle class actions and other employment-related legal disputes as needed

Requirements:

• Minimum of five years of law firm experience in labor and employment law
• Deposition experience and ability to run cases independently
• Experience with employment litigation, including trial work and class actions, is preferred
• Strong analytical, research, and writing skills
• Ability to communicate effectively with clients and opposing counsel
• Active membership in the California Bar

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

• Active membership in the California Bar
