Job Overview

A law firm seeks an experienced Senior Attorney in Wilmington, NC. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in client representation and a passion for mentoring emerging legal professionals. This role requires expertise in managing a substantial caseload and proficiency in all trial process aspects, including drafting legal documents and guiding cases to resolution.

Duties

• Anticipate, prepare for, and attend trials, mediation, and arbitration on behalf of clients.
• Draft legal documents, such as pleadings, motions, notices, and discovery requests and responses.
• Conduct research and draft pleadings, briefs, and motions.
• Stay informed on changes to local, state, and federal statutes and laws.
• Provide guidance and advice to associate attorneys and paralegals to resolve or prevent conflicts.

Requirements

• Able to work independently while handling multiple files.
• Previous experience advocating for clients in trials, mediation, and arbitration.
• 5 years of required experience as a senior associate in the legal field.
• Persuasive writing skills and verbal communication skills are critical, along with time management and interpersonal skills.
• Admitted to local and state bar associations.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree.
