The candidate will work on a blend of foreclosure defense, corporate transactions, tax controversy matters, and complex litigation matters with guidance and training from an experienced litigator and a close-knit team of professionals. Engage regularly with clients to provide feedback and updates, which build confidence in the client's choice of representation and develop long-term relationships. Achieve successful outcomes for clients with an eye to a client's priorities and budget. Prepare pleadings and engage in legal research and written discovery, and motion practice. Conduct and defend depositions, make court appearances, and participate in settlement conferences. Handle a caseload of foreclosure defense matters, assisting homeowners with saving their homes. Represent clients before administrative and regulatory tribunals such as the IRS, IRS Office of Appeals, NJ Tax Court, & US Tax Court. Represent clients at trial in litigation cases you have prepared, effectively presenting their cases to a judge or jury. Represent clients at the closings of business deals you have structured, ranging from transfers of real estate, machinery, or inventory to negotiation of commercial leases and the sale or acquisition of businesses, business assets, or stock purchase transactions.
