Associate Plaintiff's Personal Injury Attorney

A law firm in New York City, NY, is seeking an Associate Plaintiff's Personal Injury Attorney with a strong background in personal injury law. The ideal candidate will provide legal counsel, perform legal research, draft legal documents, conduct and defend depositions, maintain client contact, and update and maintain files. Any trial or appellate experience is highly valuable. This role involves developing cases from initial investigation through trial, legal research, motion practice, client advice on labor law, premises, and motor vehicle accident claims, attending legal proceedings, and negotiation on behalf of clients.

Duties:

• Provide legal counsel to clients on personal injury cases, including labor law, premises liability, and motor vehicle accidents.
• Perform legal research and prepare and argue motions in support of clients' claims.
• Develop cases from the initial investigation stage through trial and potential appeals.
• Draft and maintain accurate legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and briefs.
• Conduct and defend depositions, representing clients' interests effectively.
• Maintain regular client contact, updating them on case progress and providing legal advice.
• Negotiate settlements and represent clients in legal proceedings.
• Supervise and collaborate with paralegals and administrative assistants to ensure efficient case management.
• Maintain detailed and organized client records.

Requirements:

• Successful completion of a Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school and passing the Bar exam.
• Active membership in the New York Bar with experience in personal injury law.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience in all phases of litigation, from case initiation to trial and potential appeals.
• Some knowledge of Spanish is a plus.

Certifications:

• Active membership in the New York Bar is mandatory for this role.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
