Job Overview

A law firm seeks an Attorney in Birmingham, AL, to manage bankruptcy, foreclosure, and eviction matters. The successful candidate will be admitted to practice in both state and federal courts in Alabama and will collaborate with support staff to draft and review legal documentation. Court appearances throughout Alabama may be required.

Duties

  • Represent creditors in bankruptcy, foreclosure, and eviction proceedings.
  • Review notices, correspondence, pleadings, and other legal documents.
  • Prepare and respond to written inquiries or disputes efficiently.
  • Attend and present motions and hearings before Alabama courts.
  • Participate in mediation sessions.
  • Advise clients through all stages of the bankruptcy, foreclosure, and eviction process.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree.
  • Admission to the bar in Alabama (State, Federal, and Bankruptcy courts) with CM/ECF filing credentials.
  • Minimum of two years' experience representing creditors in bankruptcy, foreclosure, and eviction matters.
  • Strong knowledge of secured creditor issues.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent multitasking and prioritization skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and with senior management.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree.

Certifications

  • Admission to the bar in Alabama (State, Federal, and Bankruptcy courts).
