Austin office of our client seeks associate attorney with 5+ years of experience in one or more of the following practice areas: school law, public law and/or public sector civil litigation. The candidate will be advising public school administrators and trustees on a routine basis on a wide variety of legal questions related to public school law. Will be drafting memoranda and preparing legal opinions. Drafting resolutions, analyzing and advising on claims and disputes. Drafting contracts and agreements. Frequent travel to attend client meetings and hearings throughout the state of Texas. Collaborate with team members to provide creative and responsive answers to legal problems. Respond to client inquiries promptly, including outside of business hours, as needed. Represent educational entities in administrative and judicial contested case proceedings. Drafting and preparing pleadings. Provide legal and compliance training for clients on issues related to Texas public school law. Maintain the highest ethical and professional standards. Must be Licensed to practice law in Texas. Should preferably have an interest in public education.

The candidate should have excellent communication skills who is personable and highly motivated. Must possess the ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team with a diverse group of clients. Strong interpersonal and writing skills are required. Must be academically accomplished with excellent professional judgment. Should have strong written and oral communication skills and experience communicating with individuals with diverse backgrounds and interests. Must have sufficient maturity and judgment to work successfully and confidently with elected officials and educational leaders. Should have strong analytical skills with the ability to identify risks in a real-world environment. Must have ability to multitask, meet deadlines and work independently.
