Vienna office of our client seeks associate attorney with 0-3 years of experience in the areas of estate planning, trust administration, probate, and/or elder law (Medicaid and guardianship). The candidate will work under the supervision of the Principal/Managing Partner or more experienced colleagues. Will supply support and assistance, such as performing legal research, draft and interpret legal documents, and oversee compliance to these documents. Handle assigned cases and provide analysis and advise as required. Provides operational and administrative support to the Principal/Managing Partner as required. Supports all internal team members consistent with the organizations mission and values while promoting the company culture. Responsible for assigned caseload and provides analysis and advice on legal strategy and regulatory risks. Perform legal research and draft analysis for submission to client, court or arbitrator. Draft legal memoranda, pleadings, motions, and correspondence to clients and counsel. Provide timely follow up with clients. Provide continual communication and regular updates on the evolution of their case; answering questions and providing guidance. Research, preparation, and conduct pre-trial discovery. Assist principal attorney with additional tasks as necessary. Must be licensed to practice in Commonwealth of Virginia. Extensive legal knowledge within the preferred areas of estate planning, trust administration, administration, probate, and/or elder law (Medicaid, guardianship) preferred. Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local laws. Ability to analyze case law and provide recommendations is essential. Must be computer literate (excellent knowledge of Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint applications).

The candidate should have strong verbal and written communication skills. Must have strong writing, reading, analytical and problem-solving skills. Should have strong research skills and knowledge of legal research tools. Must have strong organizational skills, ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines. Time-management skills, attention to detail and proofing skills, strong interpersonal, diplomacy and people management skills essential.
