The attorney will be responsible for managing all aspects of personal injury cases, from initial consultation to trial or settlement, and providing clients with comprehensive legal representation.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Represent clients in personal injury cases, handling all phases of litigation, including discovery, depositions, motion practice, settlement negotiations, and trial.
  • Conduct legal research and draft legal documents, including pleadings, motions, briefs, and settlement agreements.
  • Evaluate and analyze the merits of personal injury claims, developing legal strategies to achieve the best possible outcomes for clients.
  • Manage a caseload of personal injury cases, ensuring timely and effective progress of cases through the legal system.
  • Collaborate with medical experts, accident reconstructionists, and other professionals to build strong cases for clients.
  • Conduct negotiations with insurance companies, opposing counsel, and other parties to reach favorable settlements for clients.
  • Attend court hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and trials to represent clients and advocate for their rights.
  • Maintain regular communication with clients, keeping them informed of case developments and advising them on legal options and strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with legal standards, ethical responsibilities, and firm policies throughout the litigation process.

Requirements:

  • 3-4 years of experience in handling personal injury litigation, representing either plaintiffs or defendants.
  • Strong understanding of personal injury law, including negligence, liability, damages, and insurance claims.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to present legal arguments effectively in court and negotiate settlements.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously, with strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Experience conducting discovery, taking depositions, and preparing cases for trial.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team, collaborating with legal staff and external professionals as needed.
  • Strong negotiation skills, with a demonstrated ability to reach favorable settlements for clients.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the Florida State Bar or eligibility to obtain admission.

Certifications (Preferred):

  • Trial Advocacy Certification or similar certification in litigation is beneficial but not required.
