Mid-level Tax Advice and Controversy Associate Attorney

Kansas City office of a BCG Attorney Search Top Ranked Law Firm seeks a mid-level tax advice and controversy associate attorney with 2-5 years of experience. The candidate should preferably have experience in one or more of the following: researching and drafting written advice with respect to US federal income tax issues relevant to C corporations, S corporations, and partnerships; providing tax advice with respect to transactional matters, including the formation, capitalization, acquisition, and disposition of public and private entities; analyzing US federal income tax aspects of restructurings and post-acquisition integration; advising banks, developers and investors in relation to real estate assets and funds, with an emphasis on REIT taxation; and assisting clients in IRS audits and other tax proceedings, including during examination, at appeals, and in litigation.

The candidate should have clear and concise communication skills, intellectual curiosity, and strong analytical capabilities. Must have an ability to work independently, but with an understanding of when to seek guidance or additional support.
