Duties

  • Develop strategies and prepare clients and witnesses for court and USCIS testimonies
  • Represent non-detained and detained individuals in removal proceedings, including appearances before the Immigration Court and Board of Immigration Appeals
  • Manage a caseload of diverse immigration cases, ensuring compliance and timely progress
  • Conduct intake interviews with detained individuals at detention centers
  • Prepare and review various immigration applications, including those for removal defense and family-based petitions
  • Collaborate with law enforcement, prosecutorial offices, and community organizations on changes in immigration law
  • Meet with potential clients to provide strategic immigration consultations and determine case direction
  • Conduct legal analysis to assess potential benefits for clients
  • Draft and submit legal briefs across a range of immigration cases

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of experience in immigration law
  • Team-oriented and open to collaboration and strategic discussions with associates
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish (preferred but not required)
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
  • Proven track record of advancing legal cases and managing caseloads effectively
  • Experience with family-based petitions, humanitarian cases, EOIR, detained cases, citizenship applications, and other USCIS-related processes
  • Proficiency with case management software preferred

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications

  • Licensed Attorney in good standing (California Bar Admission preferred)
