Job Overview:

A law firm seeks an experienced and driven Personal Injury Attorney to manage a personal injury unit and lead a team of legal professionals in a high-volume environment. The position requires a focus on managing both pre-litigation and litigation processes for personal injury cases while effectively mentoring and developing a team of attorneys and support staff.

Duties:

• Manage a team handling the entire personal injury case lifecycle (from pre-litigation through trial).
• Oversee and manage the departmental docket to ensure the timely progression of cases.
• Draft legal documents, including briefs, motions, and petitions for review.
• Analyze trial records and identify potential issues for appeal.
• Conduct thorough legal research on personal injury law, statutes, and case law.
• Advise clients on the likelihood of success on appeal and recommend strategic approaches.
• Monitor changes in personal injury law and relevant appellate court decisions.
• Coordinate with other attorneys and firm members to ensure seamless delivery of legal services.
• Lead the team in maintaining high performance and productivity levels to meet client needs and firm goals.

Requirements:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
• Active membership in good standing with the Texas State Bar.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in personal injury law, with a strong focus on litigation and appellate work.
• Exceptional legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
• Ability to manage complex caseloads and oversee team workflow.
• Strong attention to detail, with a commitment to high-quality legal work and client satisfaction.
• Proven ability to manage and mentor legal teams to achieve high performance.
• Ability to work independently and take initiative in case management and client interactions.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bilingual (English/Spanish) with the ability to communicate with clients in both languages.
• Experience with managing pre-litigation processes and/or handling appellate cases in personal injury law.
