London office of a BCG Attorney Search Top Ranked Law Firm seeks a technology transactions associate attorney preferably with 1-3 years of post qualification experience (or equivalent experience). The candidate will have an understanding of legal principles related to IT/IP and Technology legal practice, along with a working knowledge of other practice areas (e.g. data protection, intellectual property, and financial services regulation). The candidate will have project management responsibility, ensuring timely delivery to high-quality standards. Stays aware of legal developments affecting innovative technology and/or the financial services industry and regularly attends appropriate training sessions. Has good working relationships with clients. Has a good understanding of the client, the sector, and the associated risks and opportunities. Actively works to develop and strengthen new client relationships. Acts as a source of advice to others, sharing knowledge and expertise. Has strong relationships and profile amongst senior colleagues. Ability to work effectively with others. Understands the industry and market in which the practice stream and clients operate. Contributes to the management of the group/practice area by understanding the areas of specialism, the firms capabilities, and the business plan. Takes an active role in managing the firm's reputation both in and out of work. Experience gained within a top-tier firm is preferred. Must be familiar with drafting contracts, ideally complex commercial contracts. Should have experience drafting and negotiating technology contracts, and be familiar with key technology concepts.

The candidate should have a strong academic background (minimum 2.1 degrees) with excellent written communication and drafting skills. Must also have outstanding technical skills, together with the ability to build relationships with clients and colleagues and work well in a team. Must be proactive, and able to quickly understand complicated concepts. Having a genuine interest in technology, particularly emerging technologies, is required.
