A law firm seeks a skilled Labor & Employment Associate Attorney with 2–3 years of litigation experience to join their Chicago office. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic and growing team, handling a wide range of employment-related disputes, including complex matters such as trade secrets and restrictive covenants. Duties:

  • Draft and review pleadings, motions, and briefs related to employment litigation.
  • Participate in expedited restrictive covenant and trade secret proceedings.
  • Assist in the labor and employment aspects of mergers and acquisitions (M&A) transactions.
  • Conduct thorough fact investigations, analyze complex issues, and prepare detailed reports.
  • Communicate with clients to provide counsel on employment-related legal matters.
  • Interview witnesses and draft investigation reports as part of internal investigations.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and support the team on various legal matters.

Requirements:

  • 2–3 years of experience in labor and employment law, particularly in litigation involving trade secrets and restrictive covenants.
  • Proven experience handling complex disputes and litigations.
  • Strong legal research and writing skills, with attention to detail.
  • General understanding of court filing procedures and litigation processes.
  • Experience conducting investigations and analysis for employment-related issues.
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Strong academic background with high grades.

Certifications:

  • Admitted to and in good standing with the Illinois State Bar.
  • Federal clerkship experience is a plus.

Skills:

  • Expertise in employment law and litigation, including restrictive covenants, trade secrets, and general employment matters.
  • Exceptional legal research, writing, and drafting skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact with clients and colleagues effectively.
