Duties:

  • Advise individuals, families, and fiduciaries on estate and trust planning, administration, and related tax matters

  • Draft complex estate planning documents, including wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and charitable giving instruments

  • Guide clients through probate and trust administration processes, ensuring compliance with applicable laws

  • Provide counsel on tax-efficient wealth transfer strategies, including business succession planning

  • Collaborate with other practice areas on multi-faceted client matters

  • Maintain and cultivate relationships with current and prospective clients

  • Supervise junior attorneys and support staff on estate planning and administration tasks

  • Stay informed of legislative and regulatory developments in estate, gift, and income tax law

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 10 years of hands-on experience in trusts and estates law

  • Demonstrated ability to independently manage client relationships and legal matters

  • Strong technical knowledge of estate, gift, and generation-skipping transfer tax principles

  • Proven ability to generate and sustain a portable client base

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Active license to practice law in the state of Illinois
