Workers' Compensation Defense Attorney

Job Overview:
A respected law firm with statewide reach in California is seeking a Workers’ Compensation Defense Attorney for its Woodland Hills location. This full-time position offers remote or hybrid flexibility, low caseloads, and a clear path for professional advancement. Candidates do not need to reside in California but must be licensed to practice in the state. 

Location:

• Woodland Hills, California

Duties:

• Represent clients in workers’ compensation defense matters across all phases of litigation

• Prepare legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and correspondence

• Conduct discovery, depositions, and legal research

• Attend hearings, trials, and conferences

• Utilize paperless and web-based legal systems for case management

• Communicate regularly with clients and internal teams

• Maintain and develop strong working relationships with stakeholders

Requirements:

• At least 1 year of experience in workers’ compensation defense (preferred)

• Familiarity with the Defense Base Act or Longshore & Harbor Workers’ Compensation Act (a plus)

• Proven ability to manage cases independently

• Strong organizational, analytical, and research skills

• Proficiency in digital legal environments

• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

• Active Member in Good Standing with the State Bar of California
