Reading office of our client, a Chambers ranked law firm, is actively seeking associates to join our Business Research Group. The candidate will be supporting the law firm and its affiliated businesses in preparing research on companies, markets and industries in connection with business development and client initiatives. Will be collecting, analyzing and communicating information available on the internet and through various online subscriptions and public databases. Reports prepared include company profiles, industry overviews and market analyses. Responsible for compiling and maintaining various types of Excel lists, monitoring new topics and assisting in administrative duties as directed. Also 1-2 years of experience will be considered. Experience with advanced search features and alternative search methods are preferred.

The ideal candidate must have a desire to do research and writing as own primary job function; be willing to use critical thinking, analytical skills, creativity and persistence for problem solving; and to exhaust all available sources (dig deep) while performing research. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel 2010 and at least basic knowledge of business and legal terminology is needed. Excellent spelling and grammar skills and the ability to convey written information in a clear, concise and logical manner according to established formatting guidelines is essential. Ability to work independently with an attention to detail is essential. Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines is needed. Experience with advanced search features and alternative search methods preferred. Enthusiasm to work as a part of the Research team and the motivation to continuously learn about new topics and gain new skills is essential. Bachelors degree required; General Business, Mathematics, Economics, Business Intelligence Analysis, Library Science or Communications degree preferred.
