Westwood office of our client seeks senior technology transactions/privacy and security attorney with 3+ years of mergers and acquisitions transactions, licensing and other commercial transactions experience focused on data privacy and security matters. The candidate will provide a wide range of cross-functional support to the technology transactions and data privacy teams, including transaction due diligence, remediation and deal document drafting, revisions and negotiations (representing both acquirers and sellers, licensors and licensees), policy and program (including Written Information Security Program (WISP)) formation, implementation and compliance, contracts drafting, negotiations and review, and incident response. Will also advise a diverse, global client base on compliance and best practices across all aspects of global privacy and data protection law and regulation, including data use and sharing, analytics, data retention and security, and incident response. Must have strong expertise in data protection or data security laws and regulations in one or more countries outside of Europe, Australia, China, Japan, Singapore, South Korea, UAE (as well as expertise in the European General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)). Should have 5+ years of experience, preferably in a large firm, with substantial focus on IP transactions. In-depth knowledge of U.S., European and at least one other non-EU and non-CA privacy and security statutes and regulations, with strong expertise in at least one sector such as financial, health care/life sciences, childrens privacy or advertising technology is essential. Must be licensed to practice law in the U.S. Additional Factors beneficial Law enforcement, military or government experience in privacy or cybersecurity. Expertise in managing and reviewing cybersecurity assessments and forensics and Expertise in crypto currencies Multi-lingual - verbal and written is essential.
