Job Overview:

A prestigious law firm is seeking an experienced Real Estate Litigation Associate Attorney to join its San Francisco office. The role involves handling a variety of real estate and land use litigation matters, including disputes related to zoning, environmental regulations, and commercial property. This is an opportunity to work with one of the most experienced and diverse real estate, energy, land use, and environmental legal teams in the country.

Location:

  • San Francisco, CA

Duties:

  • Litigate land use cases under CEQA, Planning and Zoning Law, Public Records Act, and state housing laws.

  • Handle real estate disputes, including:

    • Unlawful detainer/eviction proceedings

    • Commercial lease disputes

    • Easement conflicts

    • Partition and quiet title actions

  • Manage all phases of litigation, including:

    • Mediation and settlement conferences

    • Administrative records and pleadings

    • Discovery, depositions, and summary judgments

    • Trials, writ hearings, post-trial motions, and appeals

  • Work collaboratively as part of a legal team while taking ownership of cases.

  • Conduct in-depth legal research and draft high-quality legal documents.

Requirements:

  • 2-5 years of experience in real estate and land use litigation.

  • Strong litigation skills, including case strategy, trial preparation, and advocacy.

  • Ability to work on complex real estate disputes with an emphasis on Northern California jurisdictions.

  • Excellent written, research, and oral advocacy skills.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from a top-tier law school.

Certifications:

  • Active California State Bar membership in good standing.

Skills:

  • Expertise in real estate and land use litigation.

  • Strong legal research and analytical skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple cases and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong negotiation and client communication abilities.
