Washington, D.C. office of our client seeks attorney with 5+ years of law firm, corporate, or government experience in workplace law compliance. The candidate conducts legal research, prepares written content for both legal and non-legal audiences, and assists firm clients on a broad range of issues arising under state and federal employment laws and regulations, including in the areas of equal employment opportunity, federal contracts and affirmative action, wage and hour, immigration, labor relations, and state standards. Researches, drafts, and edits written memoranda, comments to regulatory agencies, and amicus curiae briefs filed with the Supreme Court and federal courts of appeals on significant employment law issues. Provides counsel and advice to the firms corporate clients primarily on EEO and affirmative action compliance matters. Serves as a facilitator for in-person and online workplace compliance training programs. Experience representing clients before state and/or federal workplace regulators is essential. Appellate litigation experience, background in federal public policy/government relations, and/or familiarity with employment data analytics is a plus. Extensive knowledge of employment law, particularly in the areas of EEO and affirmative action, wage and hour, data privacy, and/or immigration compliance is required. Must be admitted (or ability to gain admission) to the District of Columbia Bar.

Exemplary written communication skills and analytical abilities is needed. Strong client service orientation and excellent interpersonal skills. Ability to deliver exceptional results and exhibit good judgment under pressure and in a deadline-driven environment. Ability to work independently in addition to collaborating with others. Juris Doctor degree from an accredited U.S. law school (law review experience a plus) is required. Drive and determination; strong work ethic. Leadership presence; quickly establishes credibility to influence decisions Trustworthy, with strong business integrity and ability to hold sensitive information in confidence. Innovative thinker; leverages and promotes diversity in approach to getting work done. Willingness to travel occasionally.
