Lateral Business Restructuring Associate Attorney

New York City office of a BCG Attorney Search Top Ranked Law Firm seeks lateral associate attorney with 2-5 years of business restructuring experience. The ideal candidate will represent debtors and creditors in bankruptcy cases and distressed situations. Will be involved in all aspects of complex corporate restructuring transactions. Represent debtors and creditors in connection with chapter 11 proceedings, out-of-court restructurings, and other state law insolvency-based proceedings in a variety of industries. Negotiate and draft chapter 11 filings, term sheets, and disclosure statements, plans of reorganization, settlements, and asset purchase agreements. Prepare for contested hearings, including preparing witnesses for deposition and hearing testimony. Research and analyze legal issues with respect to chapter 11 and commercial law. Experience working at a Chambers-ranked bankruptcy department at a large law firm is preferred. Clerkship experience at the U.S. Bankruptcy Court is encouraged to apply.

The candidate must be intellectually curious, possess exceptional interpersonal skills to interact with clients and fellow colleagues, and have strong written communication skills. A JD degree from an accredited law school or equivalent is required.
