Atlanta office of our client seeks a trial attorney with 0-1 years of experience practicing law. The candidate will interview and draft demand letters related to landlord-tenant matters, employment discrimination (Title VII, ADA), Eighth Amendment, Section 1981, and special education matters. Research and analyze 11th circuit precedent regarding civil rights matters and craft creative, novel legal arguments. Draft complaints and correspondence to the EEOC and opposing counsel for ongoing employment discrimination matters. Draft and revise briefs for civil rights practice throughout Georgia (N.D., M.D., S.D.) as needed. Draft discovery requests in Georgia state and federal courts, including objections thereto. Take and defend depositions, draft deposition plans and mitigation plans as assigned. Draft briefs for various state and federal cases including motions to dismiss, and motions for summary judgment. Appear for hearings in Georgia state and federal courts. Represent clients in bench and jury trials in Georgia state and federal courts. Must have experience working in the nonprofit sector, civil rights litigation, and/or poverty law. Prior experience working with/ties to low-income individuals and communities of color preferred. Must be licensed to practice law in Georgia. Must be admitted to all state and federal courts in Georgia.

The candidate must have a JD from an accredited institution. Must have knowledge of intersectionality, client-centered lawyering, and equity and/or willingness to learn these firm values. Must have excellent computer skills with a proven facility with data management, process flow, and database tracking systems. Must have strong writing, analytical, interpersonal, time-management, and communications skills. Must be organized, detail-oriented, and have the ability to work effectively under pressure in both a team setting and individually.
