Insurance Litigation/Coverage Associate Attorney

Job Overview: A law firm in Chicago, IL, is seeking a skilled and experienced Insurance Litigation/Coverage Associate Attorney to join its team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in commercial litigation and insurance coverage, superior academic credentials, and a commitment to providing exceptional legal services. This role involves representing clients in various litigation matters, analyzing insurance policies, and providing expert coverage opinions.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Represent clients in commercial litigation and professional liability litigation.
• Analyze insurance policies to identify coverage issues and draft coverage opinions, reservations, and disclaimers.
• Represent clients in insurance coverage litigation.
• Provide strategic legal advice and guidance on insurance-related matters.
• Draft and review legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and briefs.
• Conduct legal research and analysis to support litigation and coverage claims.
• Manage and prioritize multiple projects effectively.
• Communicate complex legal concepts clearly and concisely to clients and colleagues.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 4+ years of experience in insurance coverage and commercial litigation.
• Experience or interest in insurance coverage, cybersecurity, defense litigation, and commercial litigation is a plus.
• Superior academic credentials from a top-tier accredited law school.
• Member in good standing of the Illinois Bar; Indiana Bar membership is a plus.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent legal research and analytical skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and other Office products.
• Ability to identify and resolve problems quickly and effectively.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Licensed to practice law in Illinois (Indiana Bar membership is a plus).
