Associate Attorney with 5+ years of civil litigation experience

A law firm in Atlanta, GA, is seeking an Associate Attorney with 5+ years of civil litigation experience, including 1st or 2nd chair trial experience. The role involves preparing motions, attending hearings, conducting depositions, and managing various aspects of civil litigation cases.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Review and prepare motions, including motions for summary judgment.
• Attend court hearings and other legal proceedings regularly.
• Prepare clients for depositions and attend depositions as needed.
• Draft and respond to discovery requests and related motions.
• Conduct medical records analysis and integrate findings into case strategies.
• Draft initial reports, interim reports, pre-trial reports, and appellate briefs.
• Take and defend depositions of both fact witnesses and expert witnesses.
• Handle trial preparation and potentially serve as 1st or 2nd chair during trials.

Requirements:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
• Admission to the State Bar of Georgia, active and in good standing.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in civil litigation, with demonstrated trial experience preferred.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent research abilities and proficiency in legal writing.
• Effective oral communication skills for client interactions and courtroom appearances.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
• Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently under deadlines.
