Dallas office of a BCG Attorney Search Top Ranked Law Firm seeks appellate attorney with 5-10 years of substantive legal experience, preferably with appellate and trial support experience. The candidate will draft complex pleadings, motions, jury charges, and briefs in federal and state court. Will have attendance and argument at hearings and trials in federal and state courts, and before appellate courts. Craft and execute strategies that optimize favorable outcomes in advocating for clients based on the review of initial case information and on-going fact investigation. Ability to oversee and handle cases from inception to resolution in a supervisory capacity. Substantive communication with courts, administrative offices, opposing counsel, co-counsel, and clients. Supporting partners and senior attorneys by providing timely, ongoing, and on-demand legal counsel and strategic guidance related to appeals, appellate briefings, trial strategy, trial court briefing, and complex pre-trial issues. Supervising and training junior associate attorneys, editing their written products, and helping them problem solve. Providing legal advice, counsel, and support to trial counsel and firm clients. Assisting partners with case management and client bill review. Handling special projects and other matters as requested. Prior experience in these areas: civil litigation including medical malpractice, employment, tort, and business disputes is preferred. Admission to the Texas State Bar essential. Extensive experience in litigation management, risk assessment, strategy development, discovery motions, settlement evaluation, motions practice, jury charges, and appeals essential.

The candidate should have positive and candid communication, in both oral and written forms. Must have high level of organization and time management skills. Must be persistent, resourceful, and proactive in problem-solving and analysis. Should have confidence and drive to take initiative and remain accountable for case outcomes from start to finish. Must have a JD degree from an ABA-accredited law school. Should have ability to lead and support associates, paralegals, and other non-attorney case handlers. Must have strong sense of inclusion and teamwork, and demonstrated ability to support and collaborate with colleagues and clients. Strong customer focus and interpersonal skills needed. Strong drafting and communications skills essential. Strong analytical, organizational, and process-development skills needed.
