Atlanta office of our client seeks senior associate attorney with 3+ years of experience in doing similar work with an employee benefits law firm or corporation. The candidate will be primarily responsible for working with the partners to process projects from start to finish and to delegate work and supervise the junior associate and associate attorneys in relation to these projects. Will be serving in IRS and DOL audits and compliance resolutions; preparing plan documents, plan amendments, corporate resolutions and other legal documents as directed by the lead attorney for client work. Ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements; providing ERISA and other employee benefits legal advice to clients; and assisting in the attention and investigation of all matters assigned. Be primarily or secondarily responsible for client communications. Conducting and supervising legal research in various databases, analyze legal documents and draft responses. Be responsible for the management of legal records. Reports to the Managing Partner. Licensed to practice law in any state will be preferable. ASPPA, SHRM, local ABC, local WEB, or NIPA credentials and membership will be viewed very favorably. Must be computer literate and other relevant technology competencies such as Internet and legal research on retirement plan programs, such as CCH and RIA.

The candidate should have a JD degree from an ABA accredited law school. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively with individuals at all levels and ability to influence and achieve successful results are essential. Strong management and delegation skills are essential. Excellent organizational skills are needed. Proven ability to think creatively and collaboratively to come to solutions to difficult and unfamiliar situations is essential. Excellent communication skills are essential. Public speaking skills are a plus.

The ERISA law firm focuses its practice exclusively on employee benefits law, including pension, 401(k), profit sharing, and other qualified plans. It also handles nonqualified deferred compensation plans, executive compensation programs, and 403(b) and 457 plans for nonprofit and governmental organizations.
