A law firm in Austin, TX, is seeking a Senior Entitlements Attorney who is passionate about land use issues and trends, with a focus on shaping the communities they serve. The ideal candidate will have significant experience in land use, administrative law, zoning, affordable housing, historic preservation laws, Municipal Utility Districts, development incentives, and various entitlement-related matters in Central Texas.

Duties:

  • Provide expert legal counsel on land use and entitlement matters.
  • Handle a wide range of issues related to land development and zoning.
  • Advocate for clients' interests in front of governmental technical and legal staff.
  • Lobby at public hearings before elected or appointed city councils, county commissioners' courts, and zoning and planning boards.
  • Engage in client representation and negotiation to achieve favorable outcomes.
  • Stay current with evolving land use laws and regulations.
  • Collaborate with clients to shape the communities they serve.

Requirements:

  • 10-15 years of substantial experience in land use law.
  • Strong expertise in land use, administrative law, zoning, and related fields.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Outstanding legal research and analytical skills.
  • Proven track record of lobbying and client representation in front of governmental and legal bodies.
  • Active membership in the Texas Bar in good standing.
  • Junior-level candidates with suitable qualifications will also be considered.
