Job Overview

A respected law firm is seeking a Senior Associate Attorney with substantial experience in creditors’ rights and bankruptcy law. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in representing financial institutions and commercial lenders in complex loan workouts, restructurings, litigation, and bankruptcy proceedings. This position offers the opportunity to work on high-level matters involving commercial debt enforcement and insolvency litigation, with a focus on strategic creditor representation.

Location

  • Albany, New York

Duties

  • Represent financial institutions and commercial lenders in:

    • Complex commercial loan workouts

    • Out-of-court restructurings

    • Negotiation and documentation of workout agreements

  • Handle litigation in both state and federal courts

  • Represent creditors in Chapter 7, 11, and 13 bankruptcy proceedings

  • Manage commercial debt collection and post-judgment enforcement

  • Collaborate with colleagues on multifaceted legal matters

  • Conduct legal research and draft memoranda, pleadings, and other legal documents

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in creditors’ rights and bankruptcy law

  • Demonstrated success in handling complex financial institution representation

  • Prior experience in commercial litigation, workouts, and bankruptcy proceedings

  • Experience with commercial debt collection and post-judgment remedies (preferred)

Education

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school

Certifications

  • Admission to practice law in the State of New York (required)

Skills

  • Deep understanding of bankruptcy and commercial finance law

  • Strong negotiation, drafting, and litigation skills

  • Ability to manage high-volume, complex caseloads

  • Strong written and oral communication abilities
