San Francisco office of a BCG Attorney Search Top Ranked Law Firm seeks junior/mid-level data privacy and cyber security associate attorney with 3+ years of law firm experience including 2+ years of specializing in data protection matters. The candidate will work with clients, large and small, from variety of industries located throughout the United States on privacy and security issues. Admission to practice law in California is essential. Should have knowledge of and experience assisting companies develop global privacy programs, and with compliance with CCPA, GLBA, HIPAA, GINA, CAN-SPAM, GDPR, ePrivacy Directive, HIPAA, GLBA, UK Data Protection Regulation, Japan Data Protection Regulation and other global privacy laws and regulations. A strong working knowledge of privacy and data security laws on a federal and state level relating to the healthcare and financial industry is needed. Experience drafting and negotiating professional services agreements, technology licenses, and other types of commercial agreements involving data sharing is needed. Experience drafting and revising privacy notices, terms of service, incident response plans, information security policies and other data protection policies is essential. Prefer experience responding to security Incidents and handling data breaches, advising on emarketing issues, mergers and acquisitions due diligence, responding to regulatory investigations, and providing advice on privacy by design/default in relation to product development; and prefer Certified Information Privacy Professional (US and EU).

The candidate should have superior writing skills, strong work ethic, great communication skills, comfort with ambiguity and outstanding interpersonal skills. Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with strong attention to detail and accuracy is essential. Willingness and desire to learn is needed.
