Portland office of a BCG Attorney Search Top Ranked Law Firm seeks environmental compliance associate attorney with 2-5 years of experience to join the environmental compliance section of its Environment, Land Use and Natural Resources practice. The candidate will have the opportunity to build and maintain strong relationships with agency officials and industry associations and have the opportunity to work on interesting, long-term projects with established clients. Will support the clients to meet their everyday environmental law-related needs, including: obtaining permits (air, waste, water), ongoing compliance (chemical reporting, stormwater management), auditing and compliance program development, responding to government information requests, investigations and enforcement actions, and citizen suit defense. Advise clients on the environmental aspects of real estate and corporate transactions including: identifying and allocating environmental risks, negotiating and drafting environmental provisions of transaction documents, and obtaining and reviewing environmental site assessments and other diligence materials. Should have interest and some experience in matters involving environmental laws, ongoing compliance, permitting or enforcement projects. Must have experience and a special interest in advising clients on air quality and climate regulatory issues arising under federal (the Clean Air Act) and state laws. Must have first-hand experience on sophisticated legal matters through their work with senior lawyers and clients involving a variety of complex and cutting-edge issues pertaining to natural resources, wildlife, and environmental laws. Should have an Active membership in or commitment to applying for the Oregon State Bar.

The candidate should have excellent written and oral communication skills. Must have good judgment, responsiveness, and perseverance essential. Strong intellectual curiosity needed. Should have self-motivation. A commitment to client service and team success. Should have JD degree from an accredited university.
